For several years, the Duke Mason Band has been involved in helping the Carthage Police Department provide toys to area children who may not otherwise receive a Christmas present. Several years ago, the band decided to perform an annual Christmas concert for the sole purpose of giving back. The concert is named in memory of Duke's father-in-law. Steve Benjamin was a well-known figure in the community. He was especially known for his love of Christmas. For many years, he would host โChristmas Open Houseโ at his home.โฆ
